Melodie was evicted and had to leave her apartment after the show. Here is part of an email from her:

For those of you who don't know my name is Melodie, I am a 49 year old woman who due to a brain injury at a young age, has many memory problems especially regarding my short term memory. To add to the problem I also experience compulsive hoarding as a side effect to my brain injury and other diagnosis. This is something that I have been trying to work on but my memory makes difficult. Just as I was figuring out a livable solution my landlord had lost patients and that started 7 year saga that ended in July '07 with my eviction.

One of the reasons that I'm writing this Email is to tell you that there is going to be a DOCUMENTARY about me and another hoarding couple called "HELP I"M A HOARDER!" that will show on THE LEARNING CHANNEL (TLC) on the WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 19TH AT 8PM AND AGAIN AT 11PM. The show is only an hour long and shows you a great deal of the struggles that I have dealt with for say oh the last 49 years of my life. For those of you who don't know there is also a 12 MINUITE RADIO DOCUMENTARY about me called "AFTER THE DUMPTSTER"
